How buying works on StarPay Market

How one payment covers several shops, how delivery and your delivery PIN work, and what happens when something goes wrong.

How paying works

  1. Fill one cart from up to 5 shops. Every shop is a registered business StarPay has reviewed, with its own StarPay account. Your cart can hold more shops; the rest wait for your next checkout.
  2. Pay once for everything. One payment with Mobile Money or stablecoin (USDT) covers every shop's items and each parcel's delivery. You see each shop's items and each parcel's delivery price before you approve. You pay the listed prices plus delivery; no Mobile Money fees are added.
  3. StarPay passes each shop its share. The payment is processed by StarPay, and each shop is paid for its part of your order when its parcel reaches you.

Stablecoin is offered only when every shop in your checkout accepts it. You get a USDT (TRON) address and the exact amount to send, valid for 15 minutes.

Cash on delivery. On some orders you can pay the courier in cash when your parcels arrive. It's offered on your order review only when the whole order qualifies: every shop takes cash, your region is covered, and the order is GHS 1,000.00 or less (a lower limit applies to your first cash order). We text a code to confirm your number, and you can have one cash order on its way at a time.

You don't need an account. We text your receipt and the link to your order page to the phone number you give.

Delivery and your PIN

StarPay's courier partners deliver every Market order. Each shop's items travel as one parcel, collected from the shop and brought to the address you give at checkout. You can't collect from the shop.

Delivery is priced per parcel, from your region and the parcel's weight: your region's price covers the first kilogram, and each extra kilogram, or part of one, adds a set amount. Every parcel's price is shown before you pay.

When a parcel is on its way, we text you a 6-digit delivery PIN. It's on your order page too. Give it to the rider only when the parcel is in your hands: the PIN is how the courier confirms it reached you.

Your order page updates on its own. Lost its link? Track an order with your order reference and the last four digits of your phone, and we'll text the link to the number you ordered with.

Staying safe

  • Only enter your Mobile Money PIN in the payment prompt on your own phone. StarPay will never call or message you for it.
  • Never give your delivery PIN before you're holding your parcel, and never read it out over the phone. After 5 wrong tries it locks.
  • Pay only through StarPay's checkout. If anyone asks you to pay them directly for a Market order, don't, and tell us.
  • Your order page shows your delivery PIN while a parcel is on its way, so keep its link to yourself until your parcels arrive.
  • See something that shouldn't be sold, or a shop that doesn't look right? Use Report this listing on the product's page or Report this shop on the shop's. Here's what can't be sold on the Market.

Refunds

These are the refunds StarPay makes:

  • A shop can't send your parcel, or the courier loses or damages it. We refund what you paid for that parcel: its items and its delivery.
  • You refuse a parcel, or you aren't there and it goes back to the shop. We refund the items, but not the delivery fee: it paid for the trip.
  • Your payment reaches us after your checkout has closed. We refund it in full.

If you paid in stablecoin, StarPay's team checks the payment and contacts you to return it in coin, including a payment that reached us after your checkout closed or was short of the amount shown.

A refund goes back the way you paid: to the Mobile Money number you paid from, or for stablecoin, in coin, arranged by StarPay's team. For cash you paid on delivery, StarPay's team arranges the refund with you. StarPay's team sends it, and your order page shows it as pending until it's sent.

After delivery, one policy covers every shop: tell us within 7 days if something arrived wrong, damaged or faulty, or if you've changed your mind about an unused item. Read the StarPay Market refund policy for what's covered and how to ask.

Selling on StarPay Market

StarPay Market is open to businesses with a StarPay storefront, a completed business verification and live payments. Ask to join from your dashboard, under your store's StarPay Market page. StarPay reviews every shop against the listing standard before it appears:

  • a logo or a cover photo;
  • at least 3 products, each with a photo and its packed weight;
  • an aisle and a city (for StarPay's records; buyers don't see it);
  • a complete courier pickup point: the address, region and phone StarPay's courier partners collect from.

Every product must also follow the prohibited-items policy: a listing that breaks it comes off the Market. Market orders follow the StarPay Market refund policy, not your own, and joining the Market means selling under it. Your own refund policy, which business verification asks for, still covers your StarPay store and payment links.

Once you're listed, your products appear in search and in your aisle. The courier collects each order's parcel from your pickup point, and you're paid for an order, less StarPay's fee, into your StarPay wallet when its parcel is delivered (for a cash-on-delivery order, once the courier hands the cash to StarPay).

Questions

Do I need an account?
No. Checkout asks for your name, phone and delivery address; we text your receipt and order link to that phone.
How many shops can I buy from at once?
Up to 5 in one checkout. Pay for the rest in a second checkout.
Who am I buying from?
From each shop. Every product names its shop, and every shop sells under the one StarPay Market refund policy. StarPay processes the payment and arranges the delivery.
Where do I find my order?
On the order page we text you. It updates as each parcel moves, and it's your receipt.
